4Finally!  Jan 06, 2012 By Scave31
These may not be the headphones for everyone, but the are JUST what I needed! I'm a medical transcriptionist, working in my home, and need to have earphones on up to 8 hours a day. Earbuds or bulky heavy earphones don't work for me, as they block out all other sounds in my house...I can't hear my kids or my pets or someone knocking on the door with either of the above types of earphones. So, I've been looking in every store trying to find something like these, always my go-to earphones. These are lightweight (as opposed to flimsy!) and don't put undue pressure either on my outer or inner ear, both of which are very sensitive, especially after wearing earphones for so many hours at a time. The volume control is handy for those doctors who dictate really quietly. These headphones are comfortable and I don't ever have to worry about pulling off and losing little rubber pads like those that come on earbuds. I bought 2 pairs of these, so I have a spare. I'm quite hard on them, so I always eventually yank the cords loose and the sound starts cutting out. I know this about myself and so prefer to buy cheaper headphones, too, so I don't have to feel bad about ruining them. These are perfect for me! They also came with a set of earbuds...which I gave away, as they had large, hard earpieces that were quite uncomfortable, even for times when I do need to block more of the outer noises.

4Great sound...  Jan 25, 2011 By Hancock
These headphones have amazing sound on them - the base esp. is great. The only complaint I have - they tend to pull out of my computer a little too easily. Otherwise, like them and would buy again.

1Horrible  Dec 26, 2009 By MetalBassist
Picked these up for 5 bucks. Sounded great - I love it for the first 24 hours. I went to use my iPod again and the right driver just stopped working - no sound at all. Went in the garbage. Not even worth returning.

5Coby did a 'Good Thing' (and i dont know how)...  Sep 04, 2010 By Mephitus
I don't quite know how Coby went from "that" cheap (both price and quality) brand of headphones that sound hollow and horrid to a cheaper (in price) but HUGE leap forward in quality (while being priced LOWER than what their headphones usually sell for)...

These only cost $3 compared to the $5 that the 'hollow' Coby phones usually went for but sound better than most low end 'big brand name' headphones... ...for example... they sound a lot better than a set of $20 Sony phones I bought years back... you definitly get your monies worth on these... and more...

The only real downsides, esp for the price, is that the inline volume control can sometimes be a bit 'figity' to get into ones hand correctly but it does work well, they seem to take a bit more power than others to reach the same volume level, and small headed users might find them to be a wee bit loose... but thats pretty much it...

For the bass lovers out there you'll get down to about 55hz before things start to fade out... so dance, trance & techno work great (these phones are a 'cardio' users friend) but 'earth mover' bass not so much... mids can be a bit thick at times, and highs are right where they should be...

In short... those $3 you spend will be well worth it... if you somehow manage to abuse these things into breaking (and they can take some serious abuse) just buy another set...

1Absolute Garbage-25% failure right out of the box  Mar 12, 2013 By Nick
These other reviews must be plants, because my school has bought cases of these things and there is at least a 25% failure rate right out of the box. 75% within a couple days. Don't throw your money away.
