Works fine for me Nov 02, 2009
By Back to Basics Couldn't find any reviews of this product before purchasing. Bought it anyway. I got the 8-port version. I haven't done any special testing. But, when I first installed it, I used it to plug into a notebook computer to do an internet bandwidth speed test. It did great on that. More importantly, it's working fine in day-to-day use. I use it in my entertainment center. It's hooked to a Sonos music system and a Blu-ray player. For the Sonos system, it brings in internet radio stations and music services, and it accesses our iTunes music on a Readynas Duo network attached storage. All the music starts without delay and there are no dropouts. Haven't done anything online on the Blu-ray, other than right now the player is downloading an update.
The switch is tiny (3x5x1) and it has slots on the bottom for wall mounting. Even though it's small, the ports are spaced properly so it's easy to plug cables into adjacent ports. I feed it from a Belkin router and use just a regular Cat5e cable - no crossover cable needed since the switch automatically detects which port is receiving a feed from the router and acts accordingly.
Bottom line: I'm happy I took a chance on a no-name switch. It was much cheaper than the brand-name ones and does the job.
Works great Dec 13, 2012
By M. Patterson Installed this in my office, works great. Hey, it's a switch, they either work or they don't, and this one does.
