A good buy! Mar 10, 2008
By A. Heikal I bought the studio Ultimate package fro BestBuy Boston 2 weeks ago. I was hesitant to buy because of the mixed reviews on the Net. This is my experience: The pinnacle software installed easily. The only minor glitch is the registration of the sound soap add-on (Part of the Ultimate package) which had to be repeated 3 times. The software interface is intuitive, very powerful and easy to work with. The hardware capture module is nice. It is miles ahead of the Dazzle. Quality of capture is very good. Frame dropping is minimal (~85 frames =3 sec dropped in a bad quality 2 hrs VHS tape). All in all a very good product .

Studio Moviebox Ultimate USB2 Pro Effects & Greenscreen Mar 03, 2008
By Doug Malpus

The Moviebox was difficult to set up but with the help of Pinnacle Technical support it is now running very well. More detail in "Things that go wrong" could have helped me to sort out the setting up. FAQ's are extensive but searching for the solution required didn't match up with the questions I made. The Studio software is intuitive to use with drag and drop being an easy way to construct a movie. Sound can treated the same way. Narration and music can be added on separate tracks with pro fading available to emphasise the sounds. With so many features available it will take me a long time to explore and use them. I have not used the titles and fx's but as time goes on I'm sure I will. Overall, the analogue video capture is excellent and the software easy to use. The possibilities seem endless.

Pinnacle MovieBox Ultimate Aug 31, 2008
By Wayne Rheaume

The program could not find the USB Driver 99% of the time and when it did, there were too many frames dropped to make the movie. I have tried it with Windows Vista and Vista will not read analog files so I purchased a new laptop from Dell with Windows XP and tried it with this system. It did work when the program could find the driver but it was really frustrating working with the product.

This review stays at 1 star until pinnacle helps me Sep 24, 2008
By Bruce Have you ever gone through one of these web things where you have to take a long time to fill in boxes and then finally at the end it blows up on you and does not work? Well that is what Pinnacle just put me through for trying to get support on some the effects that are supposed to come with my Pinnacle Studio Plus Ultimate.
It appears that after all of the hype about how many editing effects you get, when you really get down to it, the are all locked and when you try to use them they have a Pinnacle logo on the images.
The default set is stingy, and the free ones you get for registering and giving up your information are about as paltry. Meanwhile there are all these cool effects that I thought I paid for, and shoule have paid for since I paid about $50 extra from the next down version.
So the advertising is false. The support is infuriating .. if only I get my hands are the neck of the idiot web designer at pinnacle that wasted about 40 minutes of my time trying to ask them a simple question, I would kill him in seconds. It it totally unncessary and irritating to piss off you customers like that ... and lie to them about what they are getting with a product in hopes that they will not return it.
Well, this is going back to Fry's tomorrow if I do not get a good answer and the keys to unlock all of these effects.

great way to get rid of the VCR May 10, 2008
By Doug Green I was making movies in a few min, after the software was installed. Of course you can make them fancy with menues and music, but i have too many to do. Pretty basic thing to use.
