 Serious Garbage Collection Issues Apr 08, 2013

This is an early SSD (and one of the few options with this interface), but has a serious garbage collection issue-it just doesn't do garbage collection correctly. Super-talent has released a program that you can run to do the garbage collection, but this must be run from Windows, and it's unclear how often you need to run it. I'd skip this and get a more expensive but better implementation.

Oh my god. This SSD is rubbish. I got it to restore my Dell Inspiron 910 mini 9 notebook after it's original SSD wend down.
The physical insertion of this SSD was easy to do.
However, it's performance is so slow that I can barely use the notebook. I really have to question the validity of the manufacturer, and the chips used. I've not seen performance this slow since the days of Windows ME when the hard drive was full, and fragmented. LOL
It took 7 hours to run windows update. It took an hour to get an antivirus installed.
Browsing on the web is extremely slow.
I'm waiting for a different SSD by another manufacturer to show up in a few days.
I don't think I can even use this SSD as a backup device.
I'm seriously considering returning this one. The price was a bit high for a 16 gig drive.
By the way, I'm an A+ Certified technician.

Easy to install. But, my Dell Mini 9 runs SOOO slow now! I'm not a computer person, so I can't explain why. But the fact of the matter is, it ran faster with the original SSD. It gets two stars because it did fix my dead computer.

Bought this SSHD for a rescued Dell Mini9 with 1gb Ram - The drive works without problem - the latest Ubuntu is being used - I would have bought a larger drive but did not want to sink to much $$ into a questionable net book - turns out the unit works fine and 16G is plenty for this type of OS and netbook, even with two movies and some mp3 tunes - So far all applications have worked without problem - fast browsing, even watching TV shows, internet videos, even mp4 movies - I would recomend this SSHD for this type of application, it's fast quiet, runs cool, and low power consumption. The vendor delivered it on time and with ample packaging. All in all a positive Amazon experience.

The Super Talent 16 Gbyte solid state drive fit perfectly and worked perfectly in the Dell Mini 9. Shipping was very quick. I couldn't ask for anything more!
